ALPHA CONNECTION has become one of the most exciting showbands in the UK today. Their reputation as a professional act and leaders in their field precedes them. The band tours extensively throughout the UK and abroad performing at many major Corporate Events, Award Presentations, Post Conference Parties, Charity Balls, Cabaret and Theatre Shows, as well as appearing on prime time TV. The band's versatility and sheer energy create a truly great centrepiece for any private party, proving to be a major catalyst for success at weddings and barmitzvahs. history What was once a group of Marines who happened to be musicians, has now become the increasingly successful Alpha Connection. In 1989 four Royal Marine musicians formed a band called Alpha Connection and performed at the odd holiday camp and at a few dinner dances in and around Portsmouth. They soon added the brass section to the band completing the current line up of Alpha Connection. In 1990 the band completed a world record for performing 108 hours non-stop in aid of the NSPCC and was officially entered in the 'Guinness Book of World Records'. Alpha Connection took the initial gamble to leave the Royal Marines and thereafter steadily built up a reputation for quality and reliability. Now, as a fully professional seven-piece unit, Alpha Connection has achieved international acclaim as one of the most exciting and fresh new party show bands in the UK, having performed at over 2000 venues worldwide and covering some 500,000 miles in the process. Today, Alpha Connection's date book contains more famous London Hotels than a visiting oil sheikh. Such is its budding reputation, Alpha Connection now plays more than 200 gigs a year and turns down just as many. Much of its work includes major corporate functions, society events and balls such as the Water Rats Ball, Henley Regatta Ball, the Conservative Party Ball and the Variety Club of Great Britain. Premier league football clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers have also caught on to the band's mass appeal. The musicians have also performed at numerous royal occasions, in front of the Queen, the Queen Mother, Prince Charles, The Late Princess Diana and the Princess Royal. They have also appeared on TV several times over the past few years including the last five series of the 'Jim Davidson's Generation Game'. More recently the band has collaborated with an expert production team from London's West End Theatres and has put together an unbeatable combination of classic party music, slick staging, dazzling costumes and high energy dance routines, in a ground-breaking show that exceeds all expectation. The fact that each musician is able to play at least two different instruments as well as sing gives the band this unique musical versatility. The key to its success goes beyond pure good musicianship. It's a highly entertaining and visual unit, which has the talent and ability to satisfy a wide cross-section of the public. High quality covers of such cleverly arranged and varied material make it virtually irresistible.
