Anna Stokes graduated from the Royal College of Music with a First Class Honours Degree in July 2004. A Foundation Scholar, she studied flute with Susan Milan and piccolo with Stewart McLlwham. Previously, she was a Scholar at the Purcell School of Music, where she was taught by Anna Pope.

Whilst at the RCM, Anna performed in many concerts as a soloist, chamber and orchestral player. Performances have included orchestral concerts with the RCM Symphony Orchestra, RCM Opera Orchestra, RCM Sinfonietta, RCM Chamber Orchestra, RCM Contemporary Ensemble, National Youth Ballet Sinfonia at Sadlers Wells, The Roxburgh Festival Chamber Orchestra, London Kensington Sinfonia and outreach projects with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Philharmonia Orchestra. In November 2002, she won the Wilfrid Brown Duo Prize in an RCM competition and played with the RCM Symphony Orchestra at Buckingham Palace as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Anna was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for four years becoming Principal Flute in 2000.
Past solo performances have included concertos with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, Guildford Symphony Orchestra, Kensington Chamber Orchestra, Beethovenhaus, Bonn and chamber group performances at the Wigmore Hall, St John's Smith Square, St James Piccadilly, Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
Forthcoming engagements include a tour of Tuscany and Berlin playing Principal flute with the Janacek Philharmonic conducted by Jan Latham Koening.
