Biography

The Vows are a six piece rock-pop cover group, who’s aim is to bring a professional live act to every stage they appear on.

The group formed in 1998 whilst they were studying music at college, after there debut performance interest was high, so they decided to continue with the group. Soon a set was fully rehearsed  and the band started to go out and perform.

Five years on and the original line up are still performing together. Now with five years of gigging experience and degree’s to there name their performance’s keep getting better and better. 

And they still stick to their original goal of delivering quality live music to a wide range of audience.

The Band

Wil Swain ( vocals )     

As the voice of the band Wil brings charisma and presence. He started singing in choirs from an early age and this led the way to singing in musical productions as well as The Vows. He is also known to play bass, tambourine and tiger skin trousers.

Darren Fretwell ( bass guitar )

Darren brings to the band not only his earth quaking  bass lines, but , also his Rock’n’Roll roots and expertise in close harmony vocals.

Justin Chambers ( Drums )

Not only does Justin provide the beats for the band he also brings the comedy, (whether he means to or not). Justin is currently studying at Confetti studios in Nottingham. You may also see him in clubs as well, as he DJ’s in his spare time.  

Ian Evans ( Keyboards )

Ian plays the keyboard and sings in the band. He is also as busy behind the scenes as he is on stage, organizing many gigs and rehearsals, and solving logistical nightmares without even the hint of moan. Ian is currently studying at the Guitar Institute London. He is a valuable member of the team.

Paul Smith ( Guitar )

Paul brings great musical knowledge to the band and is a very reliable member. He provides some great gurning guitar playing with an extra-ordinarily “special” tone. He is currently finishing a popular music and music technology degree at Derby, and aspires to write music for media.

Chris Jones ( Guitar )

Chris brings presence and energy into the band. He plays lead guitar and sings. Chris is a Guitar Institute graduate, and is in the process of completing a music performance degree in London. ( Where every amp goes to 11 ).
